Be civilized. This means to be someone who respects others and their opinions. When in the presence of a potential partner let them know that you value their presence and would like to engage in a conversation with them. In as much as you are expected to be relaxed do not make any comments that could be offensive.
Be active in various activities. Do not just sit at home and wait for a partner to come knocking at your door. Get involved. Participate in volunteer work in the community. That way you will meet people your age and interact with them at a personal level. Somebody in that group might fall for you, be open to talk with them and get to know each other better.
Do not lose hope. Have patience, practice it as much as you can. Avoid being haste in making your decisions. Being patient as they say pays. At times things might get tough for you. Do not despair have faith and hold on. As long as you are searching, you definitely will find the right person for you. Someone who will love and support you.
Involve your parents. Seek advice from your parents and let them guide you on what to do. They will help you avoid making bad decisions. Given their experience in life and marriage, they will have enough to offer. Furthermore, they know your character and might know and suggest someone to you that you can meet.
Search online. The internet has platforms where people meet and get to know each other. Do not be shy, venture into such sites and you will be linked to people like you. Create a good profile for yourself and be sure to actively engage in conversations either by video calls, direct messages or even comments on your profile. If you get to like someone, arrange how you can meet them in person.
Find a good chaperone. In Islam, you are not allowed to meet with someone of the opposite sex and be alone. You need to have a third party. Therefore, as you decide on picking a chaperone, pick the right person. Do not let the person you are meeting be intimidated by that person. Always seek the advice of your potential partner when bringing along a chaperone.
Prayer should not be ignored in the search for a partner. Even as you follow up on the things explained above, put your trust in Allah, and He will provide the right person for you. Furthermore, do not ignorantly get into marriage. Make sure you are well prepared to deal with all the challenges that come with it.
