Where Do We Go After Death?

By Tammie Caldwell

Some say its an equalizer some call it the ripper while others do not even have words to talk about it. Death is a situation that most people do not want to face as little is known to where do we go after death. Its a condition that most people would rather do without since its a world very few people know about. The departure of a loved one can be the most traumatic event one will ever go through it can also be the most relieving task one will ever experience. This will be all due to the occurrences one had to go through before dying.

In ancient Egypt there existed the old form of leadership that was headed by the pharaoh and at that time the Egyptians had a system whereby any royal leader whenever they die they are to be buried with all their belongings and staff. Thus, after pharaoh died, the systems dictated that they be buried with all their servant this is because they believed that even in their next stage of life their staff will help them in service.

The Buganda kingdom in modern day Uganda has had a history of kings and the death of their royal ones has proved to be an interesting chapter of their lives. Their kings were all royal and they had a special burial site that cannot be traced currently. Whenever a Kabaka died, they removed the jaw bone and preserved it in a special museum for the royals that is present up to date.

Hindus have a different belief system from the aforementioned systems. To them life did not really end with the final breath of the individual. They tend to believe that life starts all over again for one once they die. They believe that once your body dies the soul will be reincarnated in another state and that the individual will be born again in another form but in a different body or state.

The Christians have a different way of looking at this subject matter, they believe in a supreme God that controls all and judges all people according to their deed. To them, it is a translation period because they believe that after one dies, they are judged by deeds and their actions on earth determine their next stage in life. If they had good deeds they proceed to a heaven without problems but if they were ill intentioned they go to hell.

The atheists have a totally different perspective of viewing the matter of death. To them its all about logic, they do not believe in life with a more superior being than them. They do not believe in fate. To them, its more about the end. It is the final verdict for all creatures as they cannot be of any other use without the life they had.

The Muslims on the other hand believe that life is more of a preparation for a better place. The trials they have to undergo make them better and more suitable for the afterlife which they believe awaits them with pleasantries.

Life and death are two different worlds.in life almost all can be predicted and forms of existence can be fore told as almost all steps of life have been lived before but in dying nobody really knows anything about it.
