You do not really have to go to church to be saved because you can always make a prayer even at home and confess Jesus as your Lord and savior. Once you have done that, you qualify to be a young person in Christ. However, you will need to join other believers as a sign of assurance of your salvation.
Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation, their old life is completely gone and they are now a new creature. This Biblical approach is true for sure but there is a problem. Many Christians think that once they are born again, they are okay and do not need to be part of the body of Christ. The truth is that if you profess Christ and still have no desire to be part of other believers, you are not a mature Christian.
One of the things you need to remember is that most people see Christianity as a false religion, a religion that is self centered, one that is full of people who only care about themselves and not others. Christians should work hard to prove people wrong by coming together, fellowship and serving one another. When you come join other Christians from time to time, the feeling that Christianity is a self-fish religion quickly go away.
The gospel can only spread to the four corners of the earth when churches come together, combine their effort and set out to fulfill the great commission. A clear look at Biblical history of the church shows that men tried doing great things on their own and always succeeded. Even then, mightier things have been done in the past through a combination of the efforts of the believers.
If you have the spirit of God and the mind of Christ, you will find yourself having the desire to join other Christians, be part of them, and worship with as well as serving them. If you say that you know Jesus but lack the desire to join other believers in the church, then you are not a mature Christian. Pray to God to give the desire to be part of others so that you grow strong together.
The church is an important place that will help you to grow in Christ. After some time, you will become a mature person in Christ who is able to lead a stable and mature life in Christ. This will also give you an opportunity to be able to lead others to Christ too.
Be sure of one thing; the more you spend time with other people in the church, the more you are able to grow strong in Christ. You are able to understand the plan of God for your life. You will know the main reason why he created you.
